Chronic Diarrhea
Diarrhea happens when we consume something improper like a bacteria, virus, or chemical drugs (i.e., antibiotics). If diarrhea happens to a newborn baby or pre-school child, special attention is needed by a physician. The first thing you should do is prevent dehydration. Second, watch the diet. Do not feed the child any solid foods for at least 6 to 12 hours. When diarrhea is accompanied by fever, the adult
client must see a physician for evaluation too.
In Chinese medicine, we observe the digestion system with the energy issues.
What are the normal bowel functions and its daily habits? A normal movement ranges from once daily, twice daily, to once every other day with quality stool. In Chinese medicine, it is a natural phenomena and a necessary function for the body to detoxify.
The frequency of bowel movements is very important. If you observe that your daily movements are more than 3 times a day and always watery accompanied with cramps or fever, it is not considered normal. This is considered a yellow light to your digestive health system and intestinal energy.
The quality of stool also needs attention. Make sure it isn’t too wet, black in color or
has a very bad odor. If these patterns happen regularly you must see your physician to rule out any pathological reasons.
When there is no obvious reason for the diarrhea, Chinese medicine has very powerful energy to restore your digestion and intestinal functions to normal.
